Basic Prerequisites

In addition, realtors must complete 16 hours of continuing education classes prior to the biennial renewal. Of these 16 hours, 6 are based on core real estate principles, while the remaining 10 must be commission-approved electives.

While the educational requirements must be met at an approved school, the IREC does provide for the acceptance of distance-learning provided that the distance-learning program adheres to the commission’s educational guidelines. Pearson VUE administers the licensing exam for Indiana realtors. The exam fee is $65 for salespersons and payable directly to the testing company.
